[ATTACH]195031 here are my 6x2x1 hones.
In clockwise manner they are as follows. 9:00 soft,12:00 washita , 3:00 hard , 6:00 surgical black,in the middle is a smoked caramel translucent .
Well ninety percent of the time I use my king 1k then a coti and then a black arkansas stone. Some times however I will feel spunky and use my soft to do a bevel set and then a coti and then a trans or black arkie.
I use to have a hard ark that was really old and dished out but I gave up on trying to lap it and have since then lost it. I have no idea how old it was nor how it got so dished out but I would really like to get another one so I can try to do a full hone using only arkies.
I have two primitive cut arkies one black and one translucent from dans. I am thinking about squaring them up though as there odd shape makes them a little hard to use for razors. I will say though that if someone has a nice professional grade saw or access to one, then getting one of the primitive cut arkies is a great option to save some money and get a pretty big stone. I think I spent 60 bucks and got a large black and large translucent stone.
I thought there was already a giant arkie thread?
There is. Gotta be pushing 30ish pages by now.
