Going to give it a whirl this weekend, maybe. Gotta be out of town through Sunday. Might need to rest.

Beautifull ..... 20 000 does it gives beter edge that my new 5x1.1/4 blue Thury :hmmm:
It has to be better , isnt it .
Good for you!
If I ever actually order one I suppose it will eventually show up :)
HAD has allowed me to have this hone, and I love the edges. Less is more when it comes to this hone, I try to sneak up on the final edge rather than do a whole bunch of extra strokes. Enjoy!
I had the same experience. It's an easy stone to use, but I got around the same place I end up with a jnat, and I like the qualities of the jnat edge a little better.
it will be more reliable on everything than a natural, though - the abrasive in it won't be challenged by anything no matter how hard a razor is. that is, unless you have a steel that's filled with vanadium carbides (that only occurs when a knife maker makes a razor out of some very highly alloyed steel that's a whole lot more appropriate for a knife than a razor).
ooooooooooooooooomyyyyyyy god!!!!
Congratulations!!! :D :D have nice sharpening!!! :D
I have had my G20k for a little over a week. Growing to like it more every time I use it. It's not going to make up for poor technique or patience at the coarser grits. But it does give me consistent results. So far have honed a couple of vintage NY razors and a couple of Russian ones. I am sure with more experimenting. I will be able to begin to unlock the potential of this stone.
Great hone - you will cherish it - best synthetic finisher ever!
