It is a softer coticule then my other la dress ante, I haven't got the chance to use it much other then on my knives. Waiting to meet up with a friend this weekend to learn. The slurry stone shown with it I think is a la grise because of the soapy feel to it. Anyways enough babbling on.. I think it looks like a very nice coticule. I don't know or care anything about different veins. I realize that some do and clearly you want to know more about it, but I hope that you don't lose track of the fact that the quality of this coticule can only properly be assessed by the quality of the shave it yields.
Nice stone. Very uniform both in coticule thickness and appearance. That is what makes it hard to tell. As a lot of the tells usually is in the patterning and coticule to bbw transition.
But as utopian says. It's only as good as the shave it produces. If I had to guess my guess would be either a la dressante or more likely a la grise. Simply because it clearly comes from a thicker vein and is so uniform.

The stone just lacks the really soapy feeling of my la grise slurry stone. Either way I will find a use for it in my progression. Maybe go coticule to coticule just to see what happens. I will keep track of all my efforts either with a video or through data keeping, then one day I will upload my findings..
