"new" coticule
Anyone with knowledge of coticules willing to hazard a guess as to vein of this stone.
Feels and sounds quite gritty when honing. Seems to self slurry very slightly, but no visible swarf so far. Nice creamy yellow colour.
Cheers in advance. Attachment 200817Attachment 200818Attachment 200819

Looks like a great stone! If your stone is a newly mined ardennes coticule, then I would say it could be a veinette. I have one that I like very much, it is a fine soft stone which makes it a great all rounder stone, mine has manganese lines like yours. Attachment 200861

Looks like my La Nouvelle, very slow on just water, very fast on slurry :)

Whatever it is. It gives a lovely and sharp edge. Tend to use it purely with water after coti slurry on bbw then bbw slurry diluting down on bbw.
