    Default got a new thuringian.

    The company is still unidentified.....
Its F&Co. (FCO), the same company logo which is on the Goldfisch Wetzstein....

It must have been a company beeing in the hone business or a retailer...i already got some hints to Solingen but up to date i found no evidence to confirm this....interesting is that the companys trademark was regulated by law, actually no entries could be found in the available databases....

I could also be that it was a company beeing located in east germany, and the documentation was lost but thats only a guess....actually the DGRM mark was used from 1891 to 1949. Producers used the DGRM to register a "small" patent for ten years in general without giving further more information, sometimes its possible to find out more if a number is given as it is shown at this example....

But actually the number is referring to a patent made for a game...and a name is given...Emil Wallesch....4th Oct. 1920

Hi, I just want to intruduce myself quikly. My name is Thomas, from Germany Lower Saxonia area. I'm collecting, also wheeling a' dealing in old shaving items since nearly 30 years.

This is a great stone, you could compare it with a Echte Thuringer Wasserstein or one of the earlier DSG hones.

The D.R.G.M No 326839 was filled on the Nov.28.1907 for a box to carry a slurry stone and a hone for straight razors, to Faßbinder &Co GmbH Solingen. Faßbinder was a wholesaler for natural abrasives.

I found two slighty different labled hones:

Mine are ink stampt hell. The coloures are light green to nearly yellow green. The dunkel ink stamp on yours, could indicate a blue to blue green colour.

    My boxes and stones are slightly different. The top box/stone size is 21,8 x 5,3 x 2,9 cm and 17,5 x 4 x 1,8 cm. The size of the lower one is 22,6 x 5,3 x 3,2 cm and 17,8 x 3,8 x 1,8 cm:

The GOLDFISCH was also filled to Faßbinder &Co May.30.1907.

The D.R.G.M files and the German Patent files are two separet files. There is never ever a D.R.G.M number the same as one of the Patent numbers.

I hope you'll like the informations on your hone.
