lets see how was the fishing lately . * hones and a brand new russian razor for a 20 bucks . Man i have to stop spend those huge amounts of money in a shaving goodies /HADquizitions /
First row a black fine lidytehone 10 k at least - 15x8 sm q second stone is very fine finisher 14x5,5sm q third stone is french stone i think 3- 7 k level 16 x 5.5 sm .
Next on the first row is a SIC 15n5 stone hard oilstone 600 grit ,next is a 12.5 x 3.5 Coher coticule and last is a russian Vostok 3 razor , brand new it was never honed .
Well it shaves like a dream now guys ha ha ha
the 2 large thin identical stones in the down left corner are thuris or a Swedensteins . very fine finishers , looks like they are remouved from padles or razor boxes -17 x 5.5 sm x 7 mm thick .
The right down corner are my DMT extra coarse 6x2 that i use to raise slurry and a standart 30x magnifier . Below them is a single layer 7 - 8 mm thick coticule , very fast snd very fine .

Really wish I could tell you what those last stones are, if the stones bother you, please send them to me:gl:

Top one seems a lot like the HGH RezDog's stone
There is a thread here comparing it to the French similar stone of a similar material:
Possibly it is a serpentine.

Testing Shaun's stone - Page 5
The other is very like the banded Thuringer
Both seem to be angled cuts across the vein of rock.
Just SWAG! YMMV

Only some ideas to follow up upon or not. Most every area of the country had local stones used for honing; some finer than others

The both stones sre fine finishers , the smaler one from the 3 last pics is aJnat i believe Richard . Amazing stone .
And those blue Thuris are a bit coarser like the Swedensteins and very fast . Not so comparable with the black stones and the Blue green ones
Still very good finishers on a plain water

Looks like it was a great fishing trip.:)

Im asking miror miror on the wall who is the best fiisher of them all .
Stil no definitive answer , as some blades like some stones better . I have now alround 20 Very capable finishers and counting
just can decide difinetly but thuris are the most sucsesive and good from them with a head infront .
The Jnat ???? im talking is second , Silkstone and The french hone and C12 are on a 3 place close to them are cotis and Bg finishers
i have so many good ones that im hardly use them somethimes .
Those days ill get rid from some of the smalest thuris i have
