Idiot. Idiot. Idiot. Look what you're doing! Pay attention!

I was unpinning a couple of razors on the workshop bench when I swung the chair around to get something from behind me and managed to clip the stack of hones with my elbow sending my Shapton Ceramic Pro 5000 tumbling onto the concrete garage floor. It didn't end well. Luckily it's not as bad as I though cost wise. I've managed to pick up a replacement for $58.

Pay attention people!

I hesitated to hit the "like" button, but upon reflection I did anyway! :) Not because you broke a hone, but because it is a salutary warning!

My commiserations John. I took a divot out of my Shapton 1000 a few months ago; I think I'd have been crying if I'd broken it. Tools from Japan have the 5000 for $68 so you've got a good deal on the replacement.

It's economy postage so it'll probably take a month to get to me. No dramas though, I'll just slip a coticule into the honing progression until it arrives.

Look at it this way, now you have a small travel hone to take with you on vacations...a few extra laps and you're good to go. :)
