What is known of the MST Muller stone?

Powdered quartz embedded in chalk from a nearby quarry to the Escher quarry, sounds pretty good doesn't it.

Anyone here used one ? Thanks.

Not a finisher like the vintage Thuringians and Eschers.

I like it
Looks funny kind of dappled work it with slurry, it has decent feedback
Fairly slow cutter
I have finished a few razors on it and they shave well
I don't own an Escher though so I have no comparison
I do have a thuri but like the meuller better

I did own both. Muller stone is a get what you paid for it deal. It wasnt square or lapped. By the time I got it ready It was sparkling pyrite. Which is softer than gold so it doesnt interfear it just isnt pretty. Well then you have the Escher and all that goes with it. I found the escher to be a finer grit in comparrision to the former.
Mueller works 10-12K grit, for the money it does the same as the Escher. Except you keep more dollars in your pocket.
Get rid of the box call it a Thuri and nobody will be the wiser.

:D Thanks for the input Gent's, I'm going to order one from Open_Razor and give it a go, can't hurt, there may be some excellent Value to be had.

BEFORE you order it, please tell us what other hones you have. We might be able to save you some money.

I've only honed on two of them but neither was very impressive. Honestly, in my opinion, you would be better off taking a gamble on a $36 Chinese hone from Woodcraft.

Sorry nothing i can share from my personal findings, had all of them the MST, the Müllers, unlabelled Eschers, Eschers, Karl Bracher, etc...and more....

I feel always a difference using a vintage thuri or using some of the newer mined thuris....not that these are too bad..as you mentioned what you get for the price is ok...but these are not in range of a vintage one...

"MST" is french translation for "STI", wouldn't shave with a razor honed on it :p
