Alright so I was Givin this barbers hone today
And I have no idea what it is...
There are no other markings on the stone anywhere
And the box lost its tags long ago...
Any chance this could be identified? ?
I will need to do a bit of work to get it back into shape but I'll be doing that just for the fun of it anyway even if I don't end up using it
...

You may not have a barbers hone, it might actually be a Degussit ruby bench hone,,, used mainly to sharpen jeweler's tools & medical instrument,,,, but,,, will work into the razor progression.
look at the top picture of yours,,, the wooden container is not as "deep" as the other half,,,,,that means that is where the hone was mounted,,,,,allowing the hone to rise above the case,,, the hone was glued at one time (manufactured) into that half,,,,,,,look at the surface of the hone in the first photo,,, that could be the left over residue of the glue used to mount it.
If the hone cleans to a ruby color, instead of brown/tan,,,, then it bis probably a ruby hone.

There is really no way to know for sure.
I plan on lapping it...when I buy one...sometime soon....lol and getting it functioning again.....lol
