American Hone and 00 Frictionite
-
Congrats!! I personally take the Frictionite as one of the most interesting Barber hones...besides some other special ones...
On the other hand its a BH which sells for good prices...
The other one looks like a variant of the Swaty...

American Hone made a lot of different barber hones. The Frictionite 00 was pretty close to the creme de la creme. They are very good barbers hones and got their reputation by earning it, not just hype. They have high resale for a barbers hone as well. You should try it for a refresh or to finish a blade on it.

Yes, they are decent!
The Frictionites are very good hones. The American Hone Company, which sometime soon hopefully will rise again, originally got help from the very people who made the Swaty. I think in general their Swaty clone is not quite as good as the original Swatys, but they are very close.

That's definitely good news considering the seller threw both in for free.
I unfortunately already shaved today, so the test will come another time.
I did do a few laps on a razor needing a refresh. Definitely did seem to do the job, but I don't want to shave too much leg hair, lol.

Wow....for FREE?!?!?!
Hold onto those. Lifetime keepers! For what I hear the 00 is a super barber hone!
On my wish list to get a 00.

The seller waited a week to ship my other items. After me expressing my frustration, he replied "I'm deeply sorry, I'm throwing in a few hones and a couple extra items for your troubles."
The other extras were vintage Bakelite barbers combs and some hair shapers.

Sometimes things work out I guess. The seller (Craigslist) was very shady. Excuse after excuse why it hadn't shipped after almost 2 weeks. I'm honestly just glad I didn't get scammed.

Isn't Craigslist a local type of classifieds?

Yes. But the ad I purchased was located 6 hours away in southern IL. A little too far to pick up.
Thus arranging with the seller for shipping.

Ok...... From what I have read about Craigslist it seemed it was more local than than that. Makes sense on mailing it now. We have Kijiji up here. Same thing. I 've never checked to see if we have Craigslist in my area.

Craigslist is in Canada too and is more popular in some area than others. It gets used a lot on the coast, but not in Calgary where my kids are. You should check it out, you never know what you are missing.

I just might have to see if we have it in our area. I've heard of Craigslist being used in Ontario, but never heaver heard of it used in Saskatchewan.

I've bought 2 lots from Craigslist over the years. Both were collections from former barbers that their children were selling off.
So for anyone considering craigslist, you may get lucky. These are usually the people who don't do on eBay or know the value of their items.
