Lol I have a few of them!! Definately not thuringian though IMO even though some threads say they are. Holding it in my hand and comparing to others I have, I have to disagree about that. Maybe I am wrong though. Definately not an expert

Well I have tested the FASO from Doorsch a while ago. The thread is located here:
http://straightrazorpalace.com/hones...hone-test.html
Problem is - from what I have heard - that the old company who once sold the hones - don't want to give any information outside and prohibits any publication.
So I can only estimate the followng based on my test. The Faso isn't a real thuringian. It is a good hone, somehow comparable to the thuringians, maybe not reaching the best quality thuringians but still a great finisher. It might have been mined in another slate mine somewhere in Germany.
Regards Peter
Thank you Peter
Also in reading your test of Doorsch hone the pictures of mine almost look more light and even gray than his does. Is t possible they have different color and quality stones like thuringian? Want to test mine for comparison? Maybe that will say for sure..
I stand corrected. Must have read wrong.
Can you post pic?
