    Dan's used to sell "Washita" stones, which were ranked coarser than the soft/medium stone. I have one of these. This is what I would style a modern-appellation Washita, whereas the older term applied to a wide range of stones.

    Please note the attached chart, Stone Grades 101, where the upper heading shows that the Arkansas Geological Commission ranks softer Arkansas stones as "Washita" and harder Arkansas stones as "Arkansas," whereas Dan's own ranking for Washita below is coarser.

    Washita is Novaculite. Dan's owns novaculite mines. Ergo one can assume that they do own Washita mines. The problem at hand is that coarse Novaculite (Washita) is much rarer, thus quantities are limited.

    I know Norton owns one of the original washita mines but it's apparently not profitable to mine
