Can anyone help me identify the origin of this natural stone?
Any help will be appreciated. I have never owned a stone like this. It was quite covered in dirt and grime and actually cemented to a wood base. I got everything freed up and all of the cement chipped off. Then I soaked for couple of days and some light sandpaper and dawn with water and this is what I see. Looks like gold flakes?
Can anyone help me identify the origin of this natural stone?
Its a Pierre Du Levant, Pierre Du L'est or better said a Turkey Oil Stone...
This seems to have been soaked or cooked in oil...then they appear darker, looking more brown/golden....
Those stones are really great stones, quite fast when used with slurry depending on the quality they can work in a coarse/medium to fine area....
Thats how they look when they werent used or soaked with oil:
