I can't read clearly the stamp, aside from the "mountain" kanji that is 90 degrees reversed. I don't know the condition of the stone to say if sealing it is absolutely necessary, but I would suggest you to do so regardless; you have nothing to lose, and in worse case scenario where the stone does have cracks, you'll save the stone. In any case, I would strongly suggest you to lacquer the surface with the stamp.
For the slurry stones' stamps if they mean something, you can use some nail polish just to cover them and keep them intact.
