These modern stones don't like sun, air con ie low humidity, soaps/detergents, hot water or excess soaking.
I have the Jp. market "not for export" Shapton pros (6 years) & 5k & 1k Chocera (less than 1 yr).
My 12k crazed a little because I left it on a bench in direct sunlight. The other 9 stones are fine.
