The edge pro is a guided freehand, you have to keep that in mind. If you want to remove as much of the human factor, other systems are advisable.

I use the WickedEdge system. It was worth every penny. My kitchen knives get a lot of use and I can keep them razor sharp at all times. If you record your settings, touching them up takes no time.
My guess and gut feeling from looking at pictures of the Cricket is yes.
Each surface of the KME three sided hone is obviously curved and a tiny bit over a half inch across.
I would look at a picture of the three sided hone first, then try to find something similar in size to use in a mock up situation.
You could always contact someone that sells the KME system like Oldawan Tools and ask for their opinion.

I'd put my vote on the KME system, unless you are planning to sharpen really long blades.
I guess I'll have to stick to my old fashioned honing by hand. I don't know why the bottom knife (a vintage F. Dick) show a dark spot as it's really shiny.

Freehand for me too. It's just quicker and less finicky once you get the hang of it. I also grind all my knives to a thinner edge behind the bevel so freehand sharpening is very fast on my blades. This also makes them cut through food like laser beams.
Have exchanged a few emails with Dale from Edge Pro and am seriously considering that as an option, also a Gent I work with has the Lansky system and said hw would let me test it out.
