New coticule...La Grise?
I just got another coticule direct from Ardennes, a 150x40 on slate. I'm guessing this is a La Grise, but it does look like some of the La Grosse Jaune that I've seen before too. Thoughts?

Looks just like my La Grise, color and texture. I'm happy with mine.

Seems like mine that is suspected la grise, but mine has red spots on the sides

That's a nice-looking coti in all cases!

I heard most stones being mined now are from the La Grise layer, looks like a very good finisher in any case

Well, I honed up a newly acquired Dubl Duck Special #1 on it this evening. Got that razor for a song and I seriously think it has never been used! Either way, the coticule seems a drastically slower than my other coti (an old veinette combo) with very little abrasive feel on slurry and like glass on water. Here's hoping to a nice shave here shortly.

I agree it looks like a La Grise, but you can send your pics to Ardennes and they will tell you for sure what vein it is.
Is it slower on slurry? That would be typical of La Grise.

The other day I bought a La Grosse Jaune coticule and slurry stone. Surface of your hone looks very similar but mine do not have the white spots on the side of the stone. Not sure whether that is important though.
