Tell us more....what's the story, on um.
Interesting pair! Have you used them?
Did they come together?
Just guessing here, but is the round one used for seraded edges?
I found both stones and bought them at the flea market in a huge wooden box with tools. A miracle that they have not been broken in these conditions.
My adventure with razors is just beginning, that's why I used a flat stone to sharpen chisels and knives so far.
The round has a diameter that is too large to be sharpened with serrated blades
The Tranny should work well for u.
The round one could be used to sharpen gouges and carving tools.
Some stones which look like translucent Arkansas could be beryl, which don't seem as fine, and are used for polishing.
I tend to hoard small, shaped, Arks. The round one is driving me crazy. Have been unable to score one so far. I use them for gun parts and serrated blades. Latest score was a trans 4.5 inch x .75 round trans. You can still see the shadow from the Norton sticker.
On Friday, two more Arkansas stones joined the set...
Previously, they were used by a jeweler.
