    Default Stone Identification? Thuri?

Keep losing text so I'll post pictures and add info. Trying to ID these stones. Not much experience with naturals.

Stone 1 (bottom, photo turned)is a thuri (blue grey if I remember correctly)

They all three look to be Thurigans.
From what I can tell by the first pic.
    Top - bottom

    Dark blue
    Light green
    Light blue. / Blue Grey

An excellent find my friend, you've got a great variety of finishers at your finger tips.

I use my light blue in a progression, just before finishing on an Escher or dark blue Thurigan. I know your skin type will probably enjoy the velvety shave from the light green.IMO.

You know my edges. Should be about the same .

Again...Damn nice find, son.!! Can't go wrong.!

Very cool! Did you find those in the wild?
I'm not even close to an expert, but those look like good ones. It must be a good feeling to find a stone, clean it up, condition the surface, and then sharpen a straight razor with it to perfection!
This makes me want to go exploring!

It is a very rewarding feeling, Mike.
Especially, when found in the wilds, on the cheap.

Under $100 for all these, taken from the wilds.

Four different, Coties, all backed with BBW.

    Light blue Thurigan.

    Blue/green Escher, Barbers Delight.

    Dark blue Thurigan.

This is an inspiring thread! Hehehe
This weekend I'm gonna go out to some antique stores.
The only problem is the wife works doubles on weekends and so with an 8yr and 2.5yr old in tow it makes it a PITA.
I can tell my 2.5yr old not to touch things and she mostly listens, but my 8yr old will forget that rule the very moment something catches his eye! That is about 1min give or take 30sec.

Some of the best natural razor stones in the world IMO. Washita (including Arkansas), coti, and Thuringian.

Yep.! A velvety smooth shave, they bring for me. Only need to use my finger tips to hold the blade, when shaving. Synthetic stones don't do that for me, their too crisp, and like to bite .

The largest stone (purchased a while back) was checked out by a mentor who said it was an escher with part of the color end labels still intact. The large label was a Xerox copy with clear coat over it unfortunately.

Unfortunately, the two new ones weren't cheap, but they came in a lot with another stone I really wanted and I was hopeful these two were at least good finishers because of the size, hopefully thuris, or if I was crazy lucky one of them might have an indication of being an unlabeled Escher.

In the middle of moving, but I definitely want to compare how the different colors while I still have them.

The wife and i went out a couple weeks ago and i found a boker with a worked spine in a case for 30 bucks. Thought i might have got lucky until they opened the case. Broken blade. Ive still never ran across any stones. Maybe we can go out today for a little look.

Nice find. And three different colors too. You hit the jack pot.
