Well we are sure going to find out on the Zertone
Honestly, I haven't honed one under that name yet, so I will give it a shove across the hones, and a heads up whether it is a true RSO or perhaps a ZY/GD under another name that will hold an edge with some work..
Num-Num, Glen! Good luck!

At least it has no stabilizer to rework. Good luck Glen.
Theres always the chance that it could be made shaveable with some work. I like that it has this handy usage diagram in the description:

Handy! A sure sign of quality! ;)
I shall digress.......
Hi corybrett. The number of guys buying on or receiving razor shape objects as gift from Amazon increases every day, over all the world. Most of them end the experience after à Fès trial, some ask for help and receive redemption . Welcome aboard !
I’m glad Glen is going to give that a go to try and make it a proper shaving razor. If he cannot make it shave, let me know and I will provide you with a proper shaving razor.
By all appearances it’s just a ZY and priced normally for a ZY. That is, it’s a shape-modified and cosmetically better Gold Dollar 66. I’ve had two, one was fairly decent and honed up normally. The hollow on the other started about halfway down the blade on one side only, so it sort of looked like a kamisori. The bevels looked OK though. If you can hone a 66, this one should be no problem.
The bad part of a ZY is of course, once you’re done, you still just have a Gold Dollar 66. I’d have started with a 208 or a Gold Monkey. You could turn a decent one of those into a razor you don’t hate to use, especially if you have a pair of suitable donor scales laying around. The blade is just a poorly finished 13/16 half hollow, but the scales on all of them are the worst part about the Chinese razors, not the blade (usually, lol). The fancy models are even worse, they could suck a blister on a potato sack.
Okay so The razor arrived and I put it through the process,, here are all the results
Looking at the razor in hand I think the same thing as I thought when Cory first contacted me, ZY by another name..
I am sure most of you know that you can have just about any name printed on these if you order 100 or more
Here is the first look

The Magic Marker Test showed that the bevel was set with the spine off the hone, so it had to be fully re-set to even figure out if it was going to hold

A good sign is that the razor is NOT falling apart on the Chosera 1k leaving an acceptable amount of Grey swarf and not the huge amounts of Black sludge from the Pakistani RSO's

Bevel set and passing the Arm Hair Tests and no huge glaring deficiencies

So I moved onward and upward.
