When the very thin "burrs" of toilet paper slide over, the toilet paper in the left hand will feel fine vibrations and it will cut open. The personal goal is mainly HHT3~4.
Congratulations, HHT has a way for everyone, as long as enjoying the shaving process is the point.
I do remember a guy about 15 years ago using TP to test his bevel set, seemed to work okay for that
I just found it easier to use the TPT or TNT especially the TNT since it smooths the Fin as you test
Toilet paper is just an added test by myself, so that I don't have too sharp edges, because HHT can't make me find a way to be comfortable with my skin, I know everyone has a way, and I use what I know to find myself enjoying the shaving process, Everyone's way is to enjoy the process for themselves, thank you.
Yes, professionals. Those who make the bulk of their living by selling, making, repairing, modifying, or just honing razors. I am not, never have been, never will be in that category but many here are. I have certainly honed and sold a lot of razors in a very short time with a lot of very satisfied customers, though. Disregarding the sales, yeah I can call myself accomplished and knowledgeable. Not trying to "big time" anyone, but I absolutely roll with mirth when I see someone represent a razor that won't even cut TP as shave ready +.
Pretty soon you are going to come to a point with your honing where you are going to realize that many of these tests are just not needed
That cutting things with the edge is a bad idea
That putting numbers on the HHT was a dumb mistake that Bart made
That there is actually no such thing as "Too Sharp" it simply means you created a harsh edge
Trust me here The more you hone the better you get, the more you hone the more you realize that Stropping is King..
A couple of us are kinda busting your chops, but honestly we are just helping you move forward faster, you don't have to listen but within time you are going to say "Damn those guys were right"
Or not
Hone On !!!
