Anyone seen this Escher?
I recently picked up this Escher. It has a label on the end, "Light Green". Here it is alongside another Escher with an end label that says "Blue/Green". Anyone know what I might expect from one compared to the other?

Don't know much about the difference but they are very nice hones.

Nice find! Just give it a try and let us know!

+1 on that. Don't worry about the colour. The German hones I have seen go from green to blue to grey and black. As with coticules, some are better than others. It's a marginal thing and you really need to decide for yourself.
You need to use the hones individually and then test shave.
You can usually feel the smoothest hone with your finger tip. But they both look to be very good hones.
I have recently purchased two German hones and for me at least, I am enjoying them as much as my trusted coticule.
I hope you enjoy yours.

Thanks, I am enjoying it. I have only used it a couple of times and I am still assessing the performance. When I can give an informed opinion I will.
