Thread: Question about Tam O shanter

Nice stone. To me it looks like a Tam for certain. The swirl is just a unique inclusion. I liken it to what is found sometimes with coticules where the BW can be seen blending or swirling into the coticule.

A couple of weeks ago I traded this hone with Fenriswolf for a couple of handles, thinking it would be a Ouachita.
In my streak it comes before the Rozsutek.
Could it be a Scottish one too?

Olivia, based on the closeup photo, I don't think that's a Tam. The Tam really does have that unmistakable spotted appearance. Once you see and handle one in person, you can identify them easily IMO.

I'm amazed that it seems just in the last month or so quite a few "mystery" hones similar to the ones you've posted pictures of here are surfacing. They appear to be creamy like a coticule, but people are saying they're much harder, leave a hazy bevel, etc.
