Mine is a very light pastel pink. Maybe it's loaded with swarf. I notice sometimes my 1K and 12K ss look a little lighter/whiter, but after wetting/lapping the color returns to normal.
Mine is white on the top, sides, and after lapping. It turns gray when loaded with swarf.
I beileve they switched the color of the 12k at some point. I know they def switch one, but I don't remember which (at Lynn's, I saw two of the same grit in different colors, but I'm not 100% sure which one it was).
This is also the same with the Naniwa Chosera #10000.
They come in baby blue and light pink.
They switched from pink to white a a months or 2 ago. Same hone, different color.
I prefer to call mine salmon colored .... ex ironworkers don't own pink hones. :D
It's like bass fishing... I don't own pink lures.
But I have a lot of bubblegum colored lures. ;)
