well if you would like to drive down I would be more than happy to show it to you ramona isn't that far I think.
update got the stones and took some more pics with high detail
THANK YOU FOR THE PICTURES . it seems like not green hone.( i could be wrong) please test it and let us know how it acts. gl
not really it looks more greyish than green, in person it has a color similar to that of a mint bubblegum, the edge off the stone is very very similar to that of a chinese 12k and it gives off a greenish slurry. The other stone is the one that baffles me, its so hard that without a slurry it seems to not cut (using a diamond plate for slurry) anyone have any clue as to what the second one might be? it used to be an oilstone and it has some woodgrain pattern on the sides only not the top. Anyway after further experimentation I will post results. Will try to take a picture with something green to it so as to show the contrast better.
wait... now there is two stones? Im confused.
Are you certain that both of these stones were mined/ quarried in the UK? Wild guess here, but based on your description, the second one could possibly be a Norway Crag Oilstone, which has a history of use (however poorly recorded), as a razor hone.
Kindest regards,
Alex
