Default Covenant Stone : PRO or CON ?

I am looking at a Covenant Stone at the moment but I don't know anything about them except they are quarried in Isreal. Are they suitable for razors? Does anyone use a Covenant Stone?

I understand that they come in different grits. Any information about this stone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance......

Does anyone have any links to references concerning the use of these stones as hones? I can find a lot of information concerning their cultural and religious significance, but apart from the SRP Wiki entries, nothing about them as hones.

    Kindest regards,
    Alex

Here is one place that sells them:

But I'm not sure they know more than what is already written here. I'm thinking of getting one.

They are proud of their covenant stone. You pays your money and you takes your chances. I want one too .... I wonder if it ever ends ?

Thanks for that link. I have to say I'm not sure I would be willing to fight it out with the snakes and dangle down a rope to get a stone out. The price almost seems fair, considering these conditions. I'm not sure the grit size has too much to do with the price either. In any event I dropped them a short note and we shall see.

I am with Jimmy on this one, I've got better things to do than spend 180$ on a medium grade stone.
