Hello again,
I'm debating on whether or not to get a Naniwa 3 hone set (3-8-12K) and a Naniwa lapping plate. The question which comes to mind is how do you perform a correct lapping? Checked the FAQ haven't seen any guides on lapping. Apologize in adv. if this has been asked before. Any short advice / link would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :-)

Personally I don't think lapping is any art. Its pretty straight forward and there are many ways to do it. You can use lapping hones and lapping plates and sandpaper. You can just draw a grid on the hone to be lapped and manipulate the hone until the grid is gone and your hone is level again.

The only thing I would say is to follow Josh's method in that tutorial and do it in the sink under running water. The DMT D8C 325 is an awesome plate if you can go for that.
