Thanks for pics. beautifull stones. Is it just my monitor or that stone colour is grey with hint of dark olive green? If the colour is right I would say that the grit of your hone could be around 8000. Possibly more rather than less. When you lapped it was it softer comparing to CF/ C12k?

Just to refresh that DTs are not from single quarry. and location of Yellow Lake hone is very near by. For some in US better known under brand Salmens Oilstone.

I don't know about the color, as I don't have it anymore. I thought it was a deep blue/grey. As I said, it shaved like a 6-8k. It lapped easier than the C12k, and was maybe slightly softer, but not by much.

Hmm. I was wrong with colour on yours. Generally darker DT finer grit and somehow harder to lap.
