Using the Honzan slurry, how many laps till it starts breaking down?
I have a Maruka Nakayama Kiita and made a Honzan slurry, which if I have terminology correct is the slurry of the Kiita, as outlined by Jim R. I already had a pretty good shaving blade but wanted a little more so I built up the slurry went 100 laps till the slurry started getting a little thick so I added a little water and went another 100 laps. Very nice edge. How may laps into this did the slurry start getting pretty fine or did I even reach that point? Just a ballpark would be good to know.
