canadian stone questions
Howdy folks, was hoping yall could help :D
I have a canadian silicon carbide stone
Canadian Silicon Sharpening Honing Stone UK
That guy there.
I was wondering, is this of any use to me at all? anyone got any idea what these rate at in grit? Worth keeping for my razor or should I relegate it to a knife sharpener :D
Thanks in advance

Although the grit should be alright for setting bevels I would still want a stone that uses water as a lubricant or swarf remover.

I read somewhere else it could be used with water, and I have used it with water, ages ago but im sure my technique was garbage,, so it may be ok for bevel setting till I get a 1k which shouldn't actually be too long off.

It's too small for proper bevel setting imo. If you had a narrow hone progression (for smiley razors) e.g. small Coticule and a small Thuringian then it would be a useful stone. A regular sized 1k e.g. 8x2" will be much easier to use and give a faster and better result.
