I knew you would appreciate it Tim. It is good to set bevels or to sharpen and ain't bad for finishing if I use a light touch. :)

I have a red hone unfortunetly so far I was not able to ID it reliably. Also a friend of mine has simmilar colour to mine in size 5x1 and box simmilar to those Thuringians and Eschers.
I have loads of these

That was like fingernails on a chalkboard, a pakistan razor doesn't deserve a death like that!!
To be honest so far I do not have specific means for determining the quality of the edge it gives for example a camera with decent lense/microscope. Comfortability of the shave is also not much relevant with my whiskers as I find that often heavy blades with no HHT ability give me better shave than those with. Also I concentrate more on other hones at present but you gave me some motivation to possibly try it over the weekend. I will keep you posted.
I bought this one more like mistake as original colour of it was different. You know grime black.
Some stones from Acapin strata can be red(ish), like this one:

As promissed info on my hone. By comparison it is somewhere between 6-8000. Shave was quite agresive. Feedback while honing was on german Bismarck (original) ok but with Sheffield (Gilbert bros) it was nearly non existent.
