Give it a scrub with a kitchen cleanser like Comet
and call it done. After a scrub...
If the razor needs a touch up, lightly lather
the barber hone then use it. If it needs more than a light
touch up use clear water. Not too many
honing strokes... start with six, strop,
shave test and the next day if it needs
more give it six more....
This forum is full of info on how to hone a
razor from scratch. It seems a little bit light
on maintaining an edge. Maintaining an edge is easy 'n
does not take much: half a dozen light hone strokes
on a finishing hone or barber hone once a month or once a week does
the job for most of us.
