Need Identification of stone

I bought this at a flea market and am not 100% sure what it is. The correct color is a purple-brown. The photo using a flash makes it look blue which it is not. It hones like velvet ... very smooth. High grit for sure. Thanks for your help.

Looks like a BBW to me. But I am probably wrong if it is super smooth.

I hate to say it but almost looks like SRPs Jasper's African SIlk Vein. Those are not purple they are greyish .. Does it have a tiger eye effect when you turn it in the light?

99.9 percent sure its a belgian blue stone.

Rub a slurry on it and it should be purple like dirty purple water.

I went outside and took a closer picture. The stone looks like it has a pattern to it. One pic wet and one dry. If it is a Belgiun Blue, what is the approximate grit range? Thanks.

Believe or not you can get for that price. try to buy in small wooden box ones.gl

I think most consider it to be in the range of 5-6k, but as a natural stone that is an inaccurate approximation.

Small escher in wooden case with the cup or the other Vintage Thuringians in the wooden box are the same. You need to use a lot of laps because they're small but they're great.

Check ebay, there's a few right now.

Do know that they're small hones. I bought one and I guess it never registered in my mind how small 1x5 actually is. I could definitely still do x-strokes on it with my Puma 89 (one of my longest blades), but I'm just letting you know so you don't end up surprised
