    Default My Jnats

    hey,

just made some picture of my Jnats.

first one a Daijo. Its a pretty soft stone (i cant use the mikawa naguras, they just create slurry out of the stone itself). The grit is around 8k and i use it right after bevelsetting which i usually do with my shapton pro 2k or naniwa ss 1k. I bought it from a german knife/stone seller who really knows what he sells and what hes talking about. i wanted a hone which i could use before my ohzuku which is very fine. the daijo is a great prestage for the ohzuku or the asagi. here are the pictures

next is my ohzuku (needs some lapping). Its a really fine and hard stone. Its not that easy to handle. If i dont use slurry i need a really good preparatory work, it is very slow without slurry. with slurry it is a pretty fast cutter and i could, if i want to, use it right after the shapton 2k, but that would take too long imho. This stone works really well with my mikawa Naguras which create a really smooth edge and fantastic shaves.
    here are the pictures:

last but not least my new nakayama asagi
i cant write that much about this stone since i got it yesterday. (posted some pics allready).
as far as i tested it its much faster than the ohzuku and it is easier to hone with this stone than with the ohzuku. this stone also is really hard. dont know if its finer than my ohzuku but its pretty equal i think. i could use the mikawa naguras on it aswell.

so thats it. all stones giving a great feedback while honing and its a big pleasure to tryout the posibillities i've got. i dont know why i still have the naniwa ss stones. (maybe if something wont work and i need to make it sharp?)

    sorry for the bad pictures.
