Which stones are better for knives Naniwa, or Norton?
I have a few choices for sharpening stones in my area that I am considering. I want to use these for knives as well as razors so would be interested what would be best for that as far as wear/dishing. I'm looking at around 200 grit and 1000.
For 220 grit: Norton or Imanishi (I might get the DMT 8dC for the lower grit).
For 1000 grit: Norton, or Naniwa (hard type)
I would also be interested in Shapton if I can find a dealer near me.
If I buy the DMT d8c will I be able to flatter the shapton stones with it?
