Thanks guys, this is interesting to see what your approach is.
I just sent a question to the seller and asked if this is one color or two so we will see what he says.
Ron, Now that you mention a bevel on the first pic I have to agree with you. It also appears on the second pic. I missed those. HNSB, thats a unique approach. Thanks but I think your software is not telling the truth!:)
Due to the lack of glare at the extreme right of the 3rd pic that is where I am focused. I think there are 2 colors. The texture is classic BBW on the side that is shown so I would be surprised if it is Kees Vulcan hone but I would be very pleased if it is. Something new is always welcome.
I need another Coticule, NOT! but this was just for fun.
Keep the comments and rationale coming.:)
The software doesn't lie! Most of the pixels are gray tones, so it is possible that the stone picked up a blue cast from the lighting, but I can say for 100% certain that there are no pixels in the questionable part of the image that contain the slightest bit of yellow. (to be fair there are only about 10% that contain any blue, the rest are shades of gray) So... it depends on the dynamic range of the camera sensor and the resulting encoded JPG, but I'm gonna say with 95% certainty that it's not a coticule.
If I'm wrong, whenever I make it down there to see your stash of hones, I'll buy you lunch. :)
So... you end up with a cheap coticule and a free lunch! That's a deal that's hard to beat!
I just received a reply from the seller and here it is!..................
Dear randydance,
yr parcel has been already sent the hone is of one color only as pictured
.....................
so, it seems it is not a coticule/bbw so now the most likely answer is just a BBW.
Thanks for the fun guys!:)
The hone arrived yesterday and it is a BBW.
