Help please......Repair and Identification..

I purchased this hone a few months ago, not knowing what type of hone it was. I used it a few times and it put out an exceptional edge and a nice size too 7 in x 1 1/2 in. Can anyone identify this hone?
This is where this story turns for the worse, after I tried it a few times I wanted to post it here on SRP to see if I could get help identifing it. As I was taking the pictures, my daughters *%#@ing cat ran across the table I was using to take the picture on and knocked the hone off the table, it fell to the hard concrete basement floor and broke into 3 pieces. Needless to say I was more than ****ed off.
I have tape on the back side holding it together the pieces fit together really well. Does anyone have any ideas how to glue this thing back together and what kind glue to use or any other ideas what to do, other than cat-a-polt the cat. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know whether it would work with that but .... the main stone guy at Japan Woodworker told me he has glued broken synthetics together with Gorilla Glue. I have glued a coticule back to a blue base with Loctite Professional Epoxy and it has held up very well.

+1 exact same glue for the exact same reason...

Have you tried Hot Stuff CA? It's a super glue with the consistency of water, so it fills in the finest cracks. I've read it works well for repairing finishing stones.

That's painful...
My guess would be it's a Thuringian stone.
I think the only option it to glue it, lap it and see it you feel anything (or any damage) when you run a razor over it.

Hard to say with no labels. Does look like it is from the Thuringan family. :shrug:

Cats guts might do the trick or at least make you feel better. Here kitty kitty kitty.

Looks like a vintage Escher-type to me. Is it a soft stone? How's the slurry?

It looks like Thuri style but cut across instead og flat.

The stone is kind of soft, it has a clay like feel to it.

That's the way I'd describe my Escher-types.

+1 on the CA. Better compression more even bond line. Gorilla glue can expand. 2 part epoxy can too if you whip enough air into it. Then you get bubbles which are weak spots. There are many choices, Loctite should have a iso-cyanate version that would work well enough too.
All of these are brittle when cured so be careful Oh, looks like an Escher to me. I always try to keep my stones over some kind of padding when working with them. Oh well it happens. It's only a stone, maybe a better one will come along.
