I just got this combo hone and I was wondering if I use it for my kitchen knives if it'll mess things up when I go to use my razors on it?

I'm no honer, but I think you can use the 1200 side to set a bevel.
A hone is a hone, regardless of what you use it for. You won't do it any harm using it for knives and razors. I'm actually looking to buy one at the moment because I think it will be very good to use to set the bevels. I find my 1000 Shapton Pro quite slow on the harder steel straights so the DMT Duo 600/1200 sounds good. I've got a DMT Duo 200/325 that I use for getting rid of chips and crumbling edges and that works really well.
