Both very nice looking stones. I am new to honing and Jnats. Where does the Aoto figure in?
Typically after bevel setting...
Aoto is roughly 3-5 k, for the natural ones. A high quality is very hard to come buy and they are really expensive because they usually come in a brick size.
Rob, Paul has one, if you can ever coax him out of his house. I don't know if it's a high qaulity one or a normal one, but I used it a fair bit before I let him have it and I liked it. Like everyone says, it's around 4kish, and leaves a pretty smooth finish. I also really liked the feedback honing on it, but it was softer than I liked, so it dished and slurried.
Paul is on lockdown for the next 17-18 years. I have a better chance of seeing a unicorn or a 3 inch wide by 8 inch long, brick style escher.
