Default How to store a waterstone.

    Hi,
from my understanding, the waterstone such as a naniwa superstone needed to
be soaked before uses, but how would I store them after honing?
Should I blow them dry or kept them in the water all the time?

    Thank you very much.

By the way, I just tried three partial shaving and need to sharp my blades now because they are pulling my hair.

No, Superstones do NOT need to be soaked, and in fact they should not be.

It all depends on what stone you're talking about, but basically store them where they can dry naturally but where they won't get too dirty.

I've read that Norton stones are often stored in water, but I'm not aware of others for which that's common.

Thank you. So I will just wet them briefly before use and store them in shade for drying.

    remingtonmarlin,

There seems to be a growing body of opinion here at SRP that the Naniwas benefit from a ca five (5) minute soak before use.

Please see GSSixguns videos on YouTube for further informations:

    Have fun !

    Best regards
