I just got my new thurigan stone about a month ago and it was lapped on one side,and I have gotten better edges with it and also gotten to know it better. What I want to know if any of you can help,is, if I Lapped the other side would I get a different results as each layer is different? As it is I noticed that my edges are getting better and the feel of the stone and color are changing,any thoughts?

The other side would probably be slightly different, but very close to the side you are using now. It's tough for two hones to be any closer. I would be very surprised if the difference is noticable, unless there is a marked visual difference between the two sides.
I've done that very thing with one Escher. Soaked the label off and the label side wasn't as rough as some Eschers are under the labels. I lapped it and use that side more than the original lapped side. Not necessarily better but it is a little different. Worth a try IMO.
if you are getting great edges with one side why try next side?

The reason is they are two distinct colors and I'm getting much better at it-If there were a honemister test I think I'm ready to take it,not bragging mind you just taken the advise from Glens,Lynn's, and Jimmy's among others posts and since I was no stranger to sharpening knives I think Ive gotten the hang of it.Sorry I went a little off track here but I had a friend watching this obsession and let me shave him with a newly honed Gottlieb & hammisfher and we might have a new member,this one I would let anyone of them try and judge,SO if I got another polishing stone by lapping the other side why not?
It might be better as Jimmy pointed out.

I lap all my naturals on as many sides as I can. I have a Tsushima with all 4 sides lapped (it's square in cross section). Given what some of these naturals cost, I figure I might as well get as many honing surfaces as possible. Sometimes it makes a difference, but mostly not.
First ,sorry I left you out in the credits Holly. And the difference in the color on the two different sides aren't like black and white, but more than slightly noticeable up close. The stone is new from Timber Tools,the ones that are supposed to come from the same mine as the Escher's,the color is a grayish green on the lapped side and a little greener on the other,depending on the angle you can see different colors-I'm sure you know what I mean,but I noticed that the bottom was noticeably different when cleaning it to put it away,maybe you can see some of the colors in the pictures,anyway both it and I am getting much better.
Now I know what you talking about. I have one of these MST Thuringers. Very good hone but don't expect signifficant difference between sides.
