    Is that the same store you are referring to?
    Yes. They carry the glued chosera for 70$+5$ international postage, or +18$ for EMS shipping. Everyone is charging 30-40$ for shipping to the EU, so this is much better for me. Looks like the shipping time is about 2 weeks, so thats not that bad either.

    I bought mine from Holland (EU) with reasonable price for P&P but can not remember where from.

    Looks like they sell all the other Choseras in half thickness (granite mounting optional). Might make sense for razors, since we don't usually put much wear on stones (comparatively) after bevel setting. I'd definitely go full thickness on the 1k, though.

    Just be warned, the actual shipping time is 10-21 days for SAL shipping from Japan, and at this time of year, it's closer to 15 days or so.

    You might consider trying;

    Japanese Waterstones: Naniwa Chosera

    65.50 Euro shipped, including tax. I don't think you'll beat that price.

    I got mine from Eden web shops for about £35 and because they're UK based the shipping was only about 3 days, which was nice...!

    After having the 1/2 inch stone and using it, I am inclined to agree with the recommendation for a full 1 inch thick stone.
    Maybe I'll buy another 1/2 inch stone and glue them together. HA!!!

    I understand they have the one mounted on the plastic base (avail on SRD), but that there's another one not mounted that's heavier or twice as thick. Any sources known for that one?

    If you contact Jende Industries, I think they will cut a stone to size for you.
    The president's name is Tom. He contacted me personally about my purchase.

    Give him a rattle and see what happens............
