Thanked: 3795The price from one Swaty to another Swaty to one of the many Swaty clones all vary dramatically. There is little rhyme or reason to the prices, but if you are looking on ebay and the price of one gets too high, just wait for the next one. If you want one NOW, then you are going to pay more for that privilege. You also take your chances on a given hone's condition. Sometimes they can look just fine but when you get it in your hands it is just a crumbly mess. This is part of the gamble of buying a barber hone sight unseen.

Couldn't have said it better, myself!
If it gets too high, just wait a couple days and another will show up.

Thanked: 3795Pike was a distributor of a lot of barber equipment. They imported Swaty hones, and also had a few different hones made for them by other manufacturers. For that reason, I cannot comment on what you are calling a "pike barber hone" without more information, but what I have seen that Pike sold was of very good quality.
