DMT's for keeping a stone "flat"

Well, I've got several DMT diamond stones, however they are fine and the largest is 8" long. I bought and use them primarily for pocket knives and the kitchen. As you all know, the 8" is the same length as most synthetics, thus making it difficult to lap a stone. Well, I've been eyeballing the DMT11C & finially have it. I have checked it with a known flat edge and it's straight & ready to go to work. My "plans" are to only use it for my stones. Now there is plenty of room to keep things flat as you can see:

one day I will break down and get their 10" x 4" x 3/8" 254 mm x 102 mm x 10 mm one.
That will accommodate most stones out there.

It took me close to a year to break down and get mine even though the price isn't too bad. $56.99 + $10.50 shipping, they use the Flat Rate Priority Mail boxes. Here's the one that I got and a bonus is that it's $ going into the Joplin, MO area...

I got mine (DuoSharp 600/1200) from them a few months ago. I didn't realize they were in Joplin. I hope they escaped damage. BTW, I like your sig line...(me too)

This has been one of my best investments for stone maintanance. With the XC on one side and the C on the other. Besides the surface area and the perforations which make it very fast and with no stiction, it is very light and easy to work while under the sink.
I think the advantage to a small degree with the continuous plates is that they are potentialy a little flater.
