I actually have two, one for full hollow grinding and one for half hollow (i didn't realize it was adjustable until after I ordered them) can be a little tricky to work a first but easy as our once you get the hang of it. Just be careful of where you are putting your fingers.

p.s. Oh hahaha Of course I'm only kidding, not only do I not have room for that kind of contraption in my house I am actively saving up for a simple shapton 16k which I feel I'll never have the money for lol
The important question is who here can build one for less then $50 and post the plans quickest.
Brake Drum forge, salvaged motor buffer and belt sander, diy hollow grinder....
A poor man's straight razor shop would be wonderful.
I probably should delete this thread so that a good buddy in the twin cities doesn't see it. :rofl2:
I keep one in each bathroom
I thought if I got one of these I could screw up hundreds of razors in just hours.
I keep mine next to the CNC machine in the spare bedroom across from the Atomic Hydrogen Torch.
You guys should be nicer to Randy, you know that he cant help himself.
BTW Randy, when you do get one of these I would like to come up and see/use it, thanks buddy.
I was going to pick up one of these when I remembered:
-this machine is nowhere near as accurate as my perfect vision and my own ingenuity
-$15,000 will purchase a LOT of hones
-this will do nothing to pay back the hundreds of thousand of dollars that I am accumulating in student loans, besides when would I have the time?
Thats cool! I once saw a video of a guy in Thiers and he had a setup like that, Old School! By checking your link,It seems the one you have in the original post is the "honer" ! Check out the "Grinder" Wow!
Is this one of those survey threads? OK, I don't have one. I do have a neat grinder for machine tools, though, is that worth partial credit?
Spazola built one that I am sure was a dollar or two cheaper...
ok, ok, I can take it! :D
That thing caught my attention about 5+ years ago! I do have the treadmill motor and variable speed control for it and various hydraulic cyclinders etc. But what is happeneing is that I am trying to talk Dresden & Geezer into building me a traditional razor dual wheel hollow grinder like in the Dovo & TI videos! They said they could do it!
But Dresden first wants to build one of the drop forges and the dies for the razor blanks. Charlie Lewis volunteered to build the forge and Mike Blue will build the salt pots for heat treating!:D
Of course, if a used one comes up at auction anytime, anyplace, everybody needs to just step back and let him have it. It'll be easier on us all that way.
