Lapping a Celebrated Water Razor Hone
I just got a Celebrated in the mail, sadly once I wiped of the crud I found it what I take to be chisel or woodworking tool marks. Not too deep scratches and the hone is relatively smooth to the touch. Thought I was getting a fairly unused one as the label was so good. Ah well..
Is it worth lapping these out? Or should I just lap flat as possible and hone above them?

Also any tips on lapping these as they are so narrow.
Tools available: I have a cheap cheap diamond plate at bout 800 - 1000 grit, a King 1200, a belgian coticule and just about any grade of sandpaper and a big old marble worksurface.
Once again, deeply grateful for the incredible expertise on this site. Thanks all.
