    Default small yellow lake stone

here is a stone that i got off of ebay a few days ago . i thought it was a japanese stone from the lacquer on the stone holder . the stone was black when i received it so i used easy off over cleaner three coats and all off the grime was gone thats when i saw it was a purple stone. it looks like a bbw but its a Llyn Melynllyn aka a yellow lake stone its harder then a bbw and the stone texture is different. its 3in long 2in wide 1in thick . enjoy

Nice little stone. The texture does look like Yellow Lake, I didn't know these could have green inclusions too. I thought those were characteristic for Vosgiennes.

There are purple Dragon Tongues, a Dutch collector showed me one, so it would be interesting to hear how fine this one is.

I am not sure about your hone. I do have few marked YLs but none of them is purple. They are different shades of grey/black. Also in the area of YL mine I have not seen this purple colour slate. However there is some indication that there were two quarries for YL and they are few miles apart and I have to say I wasn't anywhere near the other one. With DT it is a different story as it is cut from material originating in different mines. Those green dots are not uncommon in N. Welsh slate. I got one big enough to cut it into a hone. Those who were last year at London Razorcon had a chance to see it.
