I need a little help deciding which vintage coti to keep. One is a "Deep Rock" coti, don't know actual manufaturer and the other is an S.R. Droescher Coti. I am not really planning on using either one, but would like to keep one just because. Any suggestions?

Both real nice. Deep Rock was the name of the mine and the supplier. Droescher was a big time seller of barber supplies that included all types of hones. All of the coticules came from Belgium originally. From one mine or another.
I know it comes down to personal preference, just hoping someone would make the decision easier.
I'll say this, although it really makes no difference, if one of them is a "natural combo" .... IOW it is not a piece of blue or slate glued to the yellow coticule, but was cut from the vein in one piece, I would keep that one. If both are naturals .... or neither ... flip a coin. I have a Droescher natural combo in which the 'yellow' is the color of an eggshell. It is one of the nicest honing coticules I've ever had. Thing is they are all different to an extent no matter who the distributor was so unless you put a razor to it you won't know which is 'best'. If I wasn't going to use it to hone with I would just keep the one that most appealed to me visually.
What are the backings???

They are both excellent Coticules so decide on the superfluous factors instead :)

The Droescher appears to be glued but the "Deep Rock" looks like it is a combination of both. It looks like the bbw on the "Deep Rock" was not thick enough to their liking so they glued another piece on. I am leaning toward keeping the "Deep Rock". Its just loaded with garnets.
The only person could answer to your question is yourself.
Test it see which one is finer and keep it.
Or you may prefer fast cutter medium quality so on.

You'll have to test for a while and see which one you like more. I had one Droescher coticule but it was bright pink and uniform, it was a great one but too small for me so I sold it on here. Old Rock is a great one too but they are natural stones so you have to test a lot to see.
I would use them both and test them against each other. Whichever is the better finisher - keep. Or, if you want something to work between your bevel and finisher, keep the faster cutting one. There is no reason not to give them a try.

Looks wise, the Deep Rock. I have what I believe is a Deep Rock and it is excellent. Test them both out. You may have a rare one which is both fast enough to hone and fine enough to finish.
Edit: And I agree with Nifty - keep them both! Coticules are getting dearer.
Keep them both as over time I have a feeling they will end up as pricey as thuringians/Eschers
