-King 1k
-BBW (~4k?)
-Carborundum Aloxite No 200 (~6-8k?)
-C12k (~10-12k?)
Would this be enough for a complete set up? Or would I need to get more stones. What am I missing if anything?

While not a traditional set-up, with practice, you should be good. At one time I used only a King 800/4000, a barbers hone and eventually a C12k. I got great edges with this set-up.
I agree with the above. If you take your time and practice this could be a set up that would work out just fine. Maybe get you a natural combo slurry stone so you can make a slurry on the BBW and down the road if you decide to get a coticule then you will already have a slurry stone.
I would leave the Barber's Hone out of the equation for now,,
Bevel set = King and it is a gentle cutter
Sharpening = BBW with slurry
Polishing = BBW with water
Finishing = PHIG
You have all 4 bases easily covered and a nice gentle progression to boot....
Slurry stones are nice to play with, but you can use your lapping plate to generate slurry too
If that is what you've got, that's what you've got. The onus is on you to ensure you learn how to get the best out of your available tools, and in time you'll be telling us what works best.
Good luck.
James.
Hello,
That's almost my setup, I honed up a razor just then actually, The 1000 king with a little coti slurry- king 4000 with slurry then water-BBW with slurry then water (that's when things started to shape up really good)-Then Coticule with slurry-water-oil. Worked out really well! The BBW in my experience with a good slurry is a great next step after the king 1000. Great feel to that BBW stone, better even then the coticule for feedback I think. Have Fun!
Nathaniel
I ended up purchasing the Welsh DT instead of the BBW
Did you get the DT from the guy on eBay, AJ-something-or-other? If so, I think you'll be happy with your choice. There's a whole thread about those stones out of Whales, and several of us are really enjoying them.
