Very nice, I think you'll enjoy the journey.
Now that is a good looking stone and large enough to really do some work :p
Fine looking stone.
Here is a dumb question y did u glue it
i didn't glue it. that's the way it came. i believe this is done for added strength because the yellow coticule layer itself is rather fragile. someone correct me if i am wrong. there are natural combo coties, with BBW on opposite side. otherwise, it is usually glued to slate, or sometimes it is black shist (maybe slate = black shist, not sure) for added strength. good question, though.
Nice Rock. There's no telling how fast you'll take to it. I was a very slow learner, but another post last wk had a honing noob just take to his new coti like a Dubl Duck to whiskers. 'Hope you enjoy it alot. If you haven't already been there, the 'sharpening Academy' section of coticule.be was very very helpful. Shaveable edges came quickly. Really sharp ones are what took all the work - but play, play, play. 'Hope you love it and post regularly about it.
Nice looking stone! Gotta love the coti.
great looking coti!!! I just got my first one the other week and I am completly in love with it. By far my most favourite stone I have ever used. Enjoy it!
So far I have seen mixture od Belgians (natoral combos, non backed cotis, glued cotis with slate/shist on the back and glued cotis with BBW on the back). I have to say that from that experience Cotis on their own are rarest, thent backed with slate/shist, then equal natural and BBW backed combos. But I can be wrong as I usualy go for second hand stones.
